As he lifted the large blade, it seemed somehow lighter. The large hilt rested easily in his hand. His humanity taken from him, without his permission or knowledge. The dark green runes etched on its surface glowed with energy. The day of reckoning is at hand he thought to himself.
It had not always been this way. The man sat with the blade on his throne, The one his father had once sat on. The kingdom to which it belonged sat in ruin, devoid of all life, Even his. Yet somehow he still walked the earth, neither dead nor alive. This kingdom, his kingdom, had become a prison to him. Long since forgotten, mostly destroyed during the war of the ancients, he remained trapped here.
